NATURE TOURS
The Mexican state of Quintana Roo - where Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Tulum are - contains a large percentage of Mexico's parks and reserves, 20% of its territory being covered by some sort of environmental protection. SNORKELING
Snorkeling is an easy way to see the underwater sights; you don’t need a lot of equipment or training. There are a number of excellent snorkeling trips offered in Cancun and along the Riviera Maya coast. Favorite spots include Isla Mujeres, Puerto Morelos, Cozumel, Xel-há and Akumal. FISHING
You can light tackle or deep-sea fish in Cancun and along the Riviera Maya year round. If you enjoy fly fishing or light tackle fishing you can visit the flatlands, 35 minutes north of Cancun or two hours south at Boca Paila. PLAYA DEL CARMEN

Punta Allen

The extreme south of the Riviera Maya is the least populated, and thus presents a seductive alternative for the adventurer who journeys to discover it. Boca Paila and Punta Allen are located on a small peninsula inside the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, a large protected area of 1.3 million acres (528,147 hectares) in the center of the state of Quintana Roo. AKUMAL

Akumal is a small community with sandy white beaches, swaying palms, sun, surf, and a feeling of paradise.
